About Ben

Benjamin is a two time Worlds Black Belt Champion. Ben started practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of seven under the guidance of legendary Renato Magno and his father Todd Nathanson. By age eleven, he was being instructed by world famous BJJ practitioner Jean Jacques Machado. Before Ben can demand excellence from the academy, he demands excellence from his professors. His intensive screening approach has yielded a range of individuals with impressive credentials, from graduates of top schools to retired professionals who still devote their every waking moment to the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

My father said to me: “You need to be honest with what you do. Every day, you’re going to wake up and you’re going to look in the mirror when you shave, and you have to deal with the person you’ll be looking at. Everything I do is authentic and true.”

“We’ve always felt successful each time we work with a student and we see the increase in the quality of athletic and overall performance. In that regard, you feel like you’ve made strides every time a student advances. In terms of the business perspective, I’m still striving; improving the atmosphere of the academy is important to me. That’s what drives me.”
